Counseling services

I have seen the sections which list referal sources for Individual Counseling and for Family Counseling (http://washington.ut.networkofcare.org/mh/resource/searchbycat.cfm?cat=9792). The only ones which you list are for the LDS Church and for the Southwest Behavioral Health Center. I think this is unfair to those of us who are qualified and, in my case, may have more training and education to help the citizens of Utah. Why not open the site up to other individual and religious mental health providers? Why not offer a full range of providers?

Hello, David –

Thank you for writing. Regarding your concerns for the Network of Care’s Washington County Mental Health & Substance Abuse Service Directory, the data originally supplied to us for the counties of Beaver, Garfield, Iron, Kane and Washington was provided by the Southwest Behavioral Health Center.

You can, however, add your agency to the Service Directory by following the procedures outlined below:

To submit information about your agency, please go to the Network of Care’s Service Directory for Washington County http://washington.ut.networkofcare.org/mh/resource/find.cfm and click on "Add or Correct Info" on the left side of the screen. You will have to log in to access this section, which is free and takes only a minute. (If you don’t have a Network of Care login, you will be prompted to make one when you click on this link.)

Once you're on the Add or Correct Info page, click the "Add Agency" button at the bottom and fill in all the information you can. That form will be forwarded to the staff at Southwest Behavioral Health Center (SBHC), which maintains this section of the Service Directory. SBHC will review your information, and if it meets their inclusion criteria for the Service Directory, they will include your listing in the Service Directory database.

If you have any other questions or comments about Network of Care, please don’t hesitate to share them.

Have a great day,
JJ Holoubek

I agree with the gentleman above regarding the network. I have provided the information requested and followed the above instructions to the network on two separate occasions and my agency is still not listed as a provider for any of the services I provide; mental health, substance abuse group counsleing etc. There are several agencies in the area that are also not listed. It would be great the public could be provided with ALL available options.

The LDS social services help anyone, regardless of religion and the help they give is NOT just of a spiritual nature. The people who work in these groups, all over the world, are well qualified also. My degree came from Scotland and I seem to be on the outside at times but I continue to work in the mental health field, doing three jobs for little money, and that is one of the reasons why the LDS services are awesome. They cost NOTHING and produce great amounts of good to all who do not demonise the caregivers simply for their faith in a Living God.
