I can't seem to find info on the website about a person completing an Advanced Directive.

Hello, Dallas –

Thank you for writing. The information you’re seeking regarding an advanced directive can be found in the Network of Care’s Mental Health Library section.

Simply use this link http://utah.ut.networkofcare.org/mh/home/index.cfm and click on the Library button at the top-right of the page. On the following page at the lower left will be a text box under the heading of “Search Our Library.” Enter “advanced directive” in the text box, click Submit and then click on the resulting hyperlinks.

If you have any other questions or comments about Network of Care, please don’t hesitate to share them.

Have a great day,

The NOC is so chock full of info, and various ways to find it,
here is another flow to great info:

From any location, I happen to be in San Diego County, type
in "Advanced Directives" in the search field. Then click to
library.

Enjoy, the whole 9 yards is available :-)

Here is another way to look around the NOC for Advanced Directives.

Again, from whichever county you are in, click links. Then check out
if any advocacy/law groups have either info or provide help.

Under National, I found this link, which is where I would start first:

Advance Psychiatric Directives - Info and Forms from Bazelon
Add to Favorites
If you are concerned that you may be subject to involuntary psychiatric commitment or treatment at some future time, you can prepare a legal document in advance to express your choices about treatment. The document is called an advance directive for mental health decision making.

When the header is clicked, this is the website:
http://www.bazelon.org/issues/advancedirectives/index.htm

BTW - As a consumer, and advocate, as well as now working for the NOC, I enjoy perusing the NOC for information because I pick up so much more by the way the site is organize and is a host of various resources.

Woops, JJ, just informed me that the "search" feature is only in California so far.

The NOC is always evolving with new and exciting features that I am always learning myself! One of the reasons I love using the NOC.

Tip, for now, you could click to a California site and use the search feature for a non-local item.
