AROUND THE EMPIRE - CAMP MEEKER Woman's body tentatively ID'd
By PAUL PAYNE
THE PRESS DEMOCRAT Authorities have tentatively identified the body of a woman found on the bank of Dutch Bill Creek in Camp Meeker.
The body of Teri Ann Whittington, 28, was recovered Thursday, the Sonoma County coroner's office said.
A cause of death hasn't been released. However, her death is not considered suspicious, Sheriff's Capt. Dave Edmonds said Friday.
A driver's license with a Berkeley address was found on the body, but authorities were confirming her identity through fingerprints, coroner's Sgt. Mitch Mana said.
Her body was in advanced stages of decomposition, Mana said.
An autopsy was set for Monday, Mana said.
It was unclear how long the woman, who was fully clothed and not in the water, had been dead, according to Monte Rio Fire Chief Steve Baxman.
The body was reportedly spotted by children playing near the water, Baxman said
