My girlfriend has a very troubled 17 year old son. He has run away several times and skipped out of town even more. The police have been called, he's been told by everyone if he skips scholl his mom is going to jail and he continues to leave. Mom has since lost her job, having to take so much time off work to deal with him. He has been found with drugs (smoking pot) and we have told the police so. No one seems to want to help her. You can stand in the doorway but when your son is larger than you, you cannot prevent him from going. The curse of the single mom! The social workers that have tried to talk to him have only made things worse as he is not willing to participate. My friend has no insurance so finding a licenced psychologist is too expensive for her. What are your suggestions for the course of action? She really needs some depression relief also - this has put her in a deep downward slide and I am very worried about her! Thank you in advance for your time!
