I feel that DHMH and MHA are proposing to close this in Kent County, Maryland hospital based purely on numbers. The human factor does seem seem to carry any weight. USCMHC is in a very rural area. The patients, present and future, will have to travel 45 mins and MORE to find proper mental health care. No good will come from this closing. Any money 'saved' by closing this facility will be needed in other areas of our communities ie: more police, more school counselors, more unemployment dollars, more food stamp dollars, more transportation monies...And the community will lose money because at least 90 people will be unemployed. We will have a disaster on our hands!!!
