BRIEF: Mission BBQ offering free sandwiches Friday to Korean War veterans
Detroit Free Press - 7/25/2018
July 25--Maryland-based restaurant chain Mission BBQ, which opened a location in Troy earlier this month, will be saluting Korean War veterans on Friday, the 65th anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended the war.
Veterans can get a free sandwich of their choice from from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at all Mission BBQ locations. The company's founders said in a news release that they're "inspired by the nation's everyday heroes." Each day at noon, all Mission BBQ restaurants have a ceremony that includes a flag salute and playing of the national anthem.
The chain's menu includes beef brisket, pulled pork, turkey, chicken and ribs (baby backs and St. Louis-style spare ribs). Side offerings include macaroni and cheese, green beans with bacon, slaw and fresh-cut fries. Mission also has a catering menu.
The Troy location is at 890 E. Big Beaver Road. Call 248-340-3860.
